[의학신문·일간보사=김민지 기자] 휴런(대표 신동훈)은 파킨슨증 뇌내병소 가시화 인공지능 솔루션 제품 1종(Veuron-Brain-mN1, 이하 mN1)이 미국 식품의약국(FDA)으로부터 허가를 받았다고 20일 밝혔다.
휴런에 따르면 해당 mN1은 학계에서 파킨슨증의 진단 바이오마커로 알려진 뇌내병소(나이그로좀1)를 MR영상에서 인공지능 학습을 통해 가시화하는 제품이다. 해당 영역은 기존에 사용되었던 기술로는 시각적 판독이 어려웠던 것으로 알려졌다.
휴런은 mN1에 대해 2020년 5월 국내 2등급 의료기기 인증, 지난해 5월 유럽 CE인증을 획득한 바 있다.
휴런은 여기에 그치지 않고 자사 기술력의 강점으로 자부하는 뇌졸중 제품 또한 FDA 승인에 박차를 가하고 있다. 이번 FDA 승인을 바탕으로 뇌질환 3종(파킨슨, 치매, 뇌졸중)에 대한 글로벌 시장개척에 나설 계획이다.
