Entrustment of Personal Information Processing
Entrustment of personal information processing refers to the delegation of certain tasks to specialized contractors to provide smooth services to "Members." Personal information is processed only within the scope entrusted under the responsibility of the "Company." The "Company" carefully reviews whether the entrusted contractors have sufficient capabilities to protect "Members'" personal information.

휴런, 연세대 산학협력단·가천대길병원 산학협력단과 CMB 탐지기술이전계약

주식회사 휴런은 연세대학교 산학협력단, 가천대 길병원 산학협력단으로부터 자기공명영상 및 신경망을 이용한 대뇌 미세출혈(Cerebral Microbleeds, CMB) 탐지 기술을 이전하는 계약을 체결했다고 14일 밝혔다.
대뇌 미세출혈은 뇌의 소혈관 손상에 의해 초래되는 작은 출혈로, 치매 및 인지장애, 뇌졸중, 외상성 뇌손상 등 다양한 뇌질환의 진단 지표로 활용되고 있다. 대뇌 미세출혈은 주변 뇌조직 및 혈관에 손상을 주고 허혈성 뇌졸중, 뇌출혈 및 알츠하이머병 등을 유발하는 원인이 될 수 있기 때문이다.
대뇌 미세출혈은 크기가 매우 작아 CT 로는 감지가 어려워 MRI를 이용해야 감지가 가능하다. 석회성 물질, 혈관 구조물과의 감별이 쉽지 않고 전체 뇌를 모두 조사해야 하므로 영상의학과 전문의가 육안으로 수십장의 MR 영상을 면밀히 판독해야 했다. 따라서 시간이 오래 걸리고, 전문가가 아니면 정확한 식별이 어렵다는 문제점이 있었다. 이를 해결하기 위해 CAD와 같은 판독기를 사용하기도 했으나, 대뇌 미세출혈의 위치변화가 크고, 크기가 작으며, 석회 물질과 같은 유사 물질로 인해 명확한 진단이 쉽지는 않았다.
이번에 이전하는 탐지기술은 연세대학교 전기전자공학과 김동현 교수팀과 가천대 길병원 신경과 노영 교수팀이 공동 개발한 기술로, ①촬영된 MR영상을 전처리하고, ②인공지능을 통한 미세출혈 후보영역을 검출하는 과정을 거쳐, ③인공지능을 통해 최종적으로 각 후보영역의 미세출혈 여부를 판단한다. 이로서 기존 육안 판독대비 훨씬 빠르고 정확한 탐지가 가능하다.
휴런은 본 기술을 바탕으로, 치매진단 종합솔루션을 개발할 계획이다. 대뇌 미세출혈은 아밀로이드 베타의 침착정도, 타우 인산화 정도, 뇌 위축도와 함께 치매를 진단하는 지표로 활용될 수 있다. 휴런은 가천대 길병원 신경과 노영 교수와 함께 아밀로이드 베타의 침착 정도를 정량화할 수 있는 솔루션인 ‘pAb’를 개발해 국내 인공지능기반 뇌신경질환 진단분야 최초로 미국 FDA 허가와 유럽 CE 인증을 동시에 확보한 바 있다. 또한 뇌위축도를 측정할 수 있는 기술도 개발을 완료하였으며, 타우 단백질 기반 치매분석 보조 솔루션인 ‘pT’도 개발해 지난 6월 식약처 의료기기 2등급 허가를 받은 바 있다.
휴런의 신동훈 대표는 ”급속한 고령화에 따라 치매환자 역시 급격히 증가할 것으로 전망되고 있지만, 정확한 진단 및 병기구분이 불가능함에 따라, 글로벌 제약사들도 신약개발에 어려움을 겪는 실정이다.”고 말하며, “휴런이 세계 최초로 치매진단 종합솔루션 개발에 성공한다면, 치매 조기진단을 통한 예방/관리는 물론, 신약개발의 패러다임을 바꿀 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.”고 소감을 밝혔다.
