Heuron Signs Exclusive Distribution MOU with Taiwan's PGI

2024-05-17

Heuron, a medical AI startup focused on neurological disorders based in South Korea, has signed an exclusive distribution MOU with Progressive Group, Inc. (PGI), a major medical device distributor and investment firm in Taiwan, on the 15th of last month in Taipei.

The signing ceremony was attended by Heuron's CBO Chanick Park, along with PGI's CEO Julian Yuan, and Business Division Deputy Manager Jerry Tseng.

Under this agreement, Heuron will collaborate with PGI to distribute its AI-based emergency stroke screening solution, Heuron StroCare Suite™, to hospitals across Taiwan. Heuron StroCare Suite™ is an AI solution that utilizes Non-Contrast CT to screen for emergency stroke patients. It assists physicians by providing information on the likelihood of hemorrhagic stroke, the presence of large vessel occlusion, and initial ischemic change scores.

The two parties plan to focus on hospitals with limited medical infrastructure in Taiwan, aiming to improve the country's emergency medical system. They will work closely to ensure the rapid diagnosis and treatment of strokes. Additionally, clinical studies on patient transfer systems and treatment initiation reduction will be conducted in collaboration with leading hospitals in Taiwan.

Heuron StroCare Suite™ is expected to receive regulatory approval in Taiwan in the second half of this year and commence full-scale revenue generation.

Dr. Donghoon Shin, CEO of Heuron, stated, "We are proud to solidify our presence in Taiwan through this exclusive distribution agreement with PGI, a company with a 40-year legacy in medical device import and distribution. We will make every effort to lead the Taiwanese medical market by actively promoting Heuron's software in Taiwan."
